Resolution 44/NQ-CP names exactly 12 countries, and Russia is one of them. The Foreign Ministry directory also lists Russia among the unilateral visa exemptions.

How many days and until when

The Resolution gives 45 days from the date of entry, for any passport type and any purpose of entry, provided all Vietnamese entry conditions are met.

Resolution 44/NQ-CP, Điều 1

The exemption applies to entries from 15 March 2025 through the end of 14 March 2028, and may be considered for extension.

Passport validity

For unilateral exemption entrants, Law 51/2019/QH14 keeps one condition: the passport must have at least 6 months of validity. Check your passport date before you book.

If you stay longer

The border stamp gives 45 days, and a citizen of a unilaterally exempt country may be considered for a visa or an extension of stay under the same law. See Extend your visa in Nha Trang, Vietnam visa exemption for Nha Trang and overstay fines. For the arrival desk, see Cam Ranh Airport arrival.

Flights from Moscow to Cam Ranh

The airport operator says the Moscow to Khanh Hoa route of Anex Vietnam together with Vietjet runs three flights a week. It is scheduled to rise to five in early 2027.

The first Vietjet flight

Flight VJ 5074 from Sheremetyevo (Moscow) landed at Cam Ranh at 14:50 on 23 September 2026, with nearly 370 passengers. The airport operator says Vietjet is the first Vietnamese airline to fly directly from Moscow to Khanh Hoa. Russian carriers already operate routes to Cam Ranh.

How many Russians arrive

In the first nine months of 2026, Khanh Hoa welcomed nearly 1.2 million visitors from Russia and the CIS. That includes 966,118 Russian arrivals, up 2.9 times on the same period of 2025. The operator puts the total at more than 2.5 times the 2025 figure. Van Hoa reports that before Covid-19 Russian visitors made up about 10 percent of Khanh Hoa’s international visitors.

The operator adds that most guests arrive on charters, so a gap in flights can quickly reduce numbers. Check your airline’s current schedule before you book a return.

Where the market is heading

The operator counts 215,101 visitors from other CIS countries in the first nine months of 2026, up 49%. The Moscow route is set to lift its Russia to Khanh Hoa network to 28 weekly flights. The operator expects to bring around 316,000 visitors in 2026 and about 378,000 in 2027.

The operator says Russian and CIS travellers favour long-stay beach holidays, wellness, premium resorts and family travel. It says Khanh Hoa’s climate suits the Russian winter-escape season. It also says the market still relies heavily on charter flights.

The airport operator says Russian-speaking workforce capacity in the tourism industry has room to improve. It also says the industry is tightening oversight of pricing and unlicensed tours. Book tours with a licensed operator, and ask for the price in writing.

Russian-speaking tour guides are scarce

Tuoi Tre News reported on 20 May 2026 that Nha Trang firms serving Russian groups cannot recruit enough Russian-speaking guides. An Anex Vietnam manager said April to October is the peak season for Russian tourists. Her firm uses English-speaking guides with international guide cards as a temporary measure.

Before you book a tour, ask whether the guide speaks Russian or English. The provincial tourism department told firms to combine groups to spread the Russian-speaking guides it has.

A Russian book library

Van Hoa reported the launch of a Russian book library at Galina, Nha Trang, with hundreds of titles in Russian and Vietnamese. The deputy consul general of Russia in Ho Chi Minh City attended the launch.

Hai Dang Company launched the library together with the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related units. The article says the library presents Russian literature translated into Vietnamese. It adds that the library opens a space of knowledge for everyone, from visitors from far away to local residents.

Opening hours and entry rules are not stated in the article, so ask at Galina before you go.

Sending money from Vietnam

A foreigner who lives and works in Vietnam is among the customers Vietcombank lists for transfers abroad. For a foreign individual transferring lawful income, the bank’s counter guide asks for an identity paper and a paper proving non-resident status or foreign nationality.

It also asks for proof that the money is lawful income, with an employment contract and salary account statements as examples. The amount follows the sender’s request, on proof of lawful income.

BIDV’s page lists a valid identity paper for the sender, and a residence card in Vietnam for a foreign individual. It also asks for papers proving the purpose of the transfer. Both pages are undated bank practice, not law. See Send money to and from Vietnam as a foreigner.

Before you go

  • Check that your passport has at least 6 months of validity.
  • Plan your stay inside 45 days from entry, or an extension.
  • Check the airline schedule: most Russian guests arrive on charters.
  • Save the Da Nang consulate hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09:00 to 11:30.
  • Save the Tam Tri emergency hotline, 0935.088.802, and ask about an interpreter.
  • Bring your identity papers and proof of income if you plan a bank transfer.
