Rain in Nha Trang is frequent in autumn: October averages 17.6 rainy days and November 18.0. Most of it is light and sudden, which is why a good plan has indoor stops for the wet hours and a short dry window for the rest. Here is how to build that day.

Quick picks

  • Best first stop: the Oceanography Museum aquarium, open from 6 AM.
  • Best way to get wet on purpose: a mud bath at Thap Ba or I-Resort.
  • Best slow afternoon: Sen Spa, with a free shuttle from central hotels.
  • Big day out: VinWonders, but check the cable car first.
  • Skip: boat trips on any day with a storm warning.

Oceanography Museum - the aquarium on a wet morning

The museum opens at 6 AM every day and closes at 6 PM, so it works as an early start before the rain settles in. Entry costs VND 40,000, with VND 20,000 for students and VND 10,000 for pupils, and children under 6 go free. The aquarium covers 5,000 square metres and keeps more than 300 marine species, from sea turtles and sharks to live coral.

Mud baths - Thap Ba and I-Resort

A mud bath is the one outing where rain does not matter, because you are in the water anyway. Thap Ba opens 7:30 AM to 5 PM every day. The hot mineral mud soak costs VND 350,000 per guest for one or two guests, and swimwear, towel, locker and a bottle of water are included.

I-Resort is the bigger option, open 8 AM to 5:30 PM. A hot mineral spring ticket with pools and water park costs VND 200,000 per adult and VND 100,000 per child. Compare both in the mud bath guide.

Spa afternoon - Sen Spa

Sen Spa opens 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM every day, including public holidays and Tet. It runs a free shuttle from Nha Trang Center at 10:00, 14:00 and 18:00, from Vincom Plaza Tran Phu at 11:00 and from Amiana Resort at 12:00, and drops you back at a hotel, sight or restaurant afterwards. Every massage starts with a herbal foot soak and ends with yogurt and a light snack. Two other spas are compared in the massage and spa guide.

VinWonders - a full day, with a caveat

VinWonders is open 9 AM to 8 PM, and the standard ticket with a two-way cable car costs VND 1,050,000 for visitors 140 cm and taller. In bad weather the operator stops the cable car for safety and arranges a high-speed boat instead. The cable car is also suspended for maintenance from 26/10/2026 to 10/11/2026, so guests take the speedboat. Many rides are outdoors, so treat this as a day for a dry forecast. More in the VinWonders guide.

When to stay in

Forecasters expect fewer storms than average for October to December 2026, but one bad day is enough to change your plans. Before Storm Kalmaegi in November 2025, tourist boats were banned from leaving port, and the November 2025 floods in Khanh Hoa flooded 15,396 houses 1 to 3 m deep. On a warning day, pick the museum or a spa and cancel island trips. For the season in detail, see rainy season and storms, and for rides between stops, getting around Nha Trang.
