Day 1: Po Nagar, Hon Chong and a mud bath

The Thap Ba hot spring area is about 4km north of the city centre, near Po Nagar and Hon Chong. That is why these three share a day.

Morning: Po Nagar Cham Towers

Po Nagar opens 06:00 to 17:30 on the Khanh Hoa tourism portal. Google Maps shows 6 AM to 6 PM every day.

Visitors must buy an entrance ticket and follow the management board’s rules. The address is 61 Hai Thang Tu Street (61 Đường 2/4), Vinh Phuoc. Read the full Po Nagar visit guide.

The provincial resolution sets both fees at VND 30,000 per person. Blog and travel-site prices are lower and undated, so carry cash for the official rate.

Po Nagar draws crowds on holidays: its management board counted over 21,000 visitors in the 4-day New Year 2026 break. Local Vietnam says tour buses reach Hon Chong from about 9:30 and the site is crowded by midday. To avoid them, start at Hon Chong, which opens at 06:00 on the official platform.

Local Vietnam says most visitors spend around an hour at the promontory. It calls late afternoon the best time for light and cooler air. It also says the rock-climbing section costs VND 30,000 per adult and VND 11,000 per child, while the beach area is free.

Thap Ba posts other soaks. The herbal mud soak is VND 470,000 per guest for 1 to 2 guests. The herbal mineral soak is VND 250,000, and the mineral bath is VND 120,000 for adults. The mud soak packages include swimwear, a towel, a locker and one bottle of water.

Eating on Day 1

Bun Ca Tuyet Ha opens at 6 AM daily, so it fits a start at Po Nagar’s 06:00 opening. For lunch, Nem Nuong A Long is open 9 AM to 9 PM. One reviewer gave its portion price as 55k. See Bun Ca Tuyet Ha, Nem Nuong A Long and the full where to eat guide.

Getting between the Day 1 stops

Hon Chong is about 2 km from Po Nagar on the same road. Local Vietnam puts the ride from central Nha Trang at 10 to 15 minutes, around VND 50,000 to 70,000 one way.

For a metered taxi, Xanh SM’s table opens at VND 29,500 for the first 2 km. It charges VND 18,000 per km from the next km up to km 25. The page says the table is for reference only.

By bus, VinWonders lists route 04 as Hon Xen - Thap Ba - Le Thanh Ton - Cau Da - Vinpearl port, 5:10 - 19:10. The reference fare on the inner-city routes is VND 7,000 per trip. That route runs from the Thap Ba area to the Vinpearl port.

Day 2: VinWonders Nha Trang

VinWonders Nha Trang is open 09:00 to 20:00, according to an operator article dated 01/01/2026. The address is Hon Tre Island, Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.

The ticket for entry after 16:00 is 700,000 VND for 140cm and taller and 550,000 VND for 100cm to under 140cm. That suits an evening visit, since the park is open until 20:00. The Tata Show runs daily from 07:30 PM to 08:10 PM at Luminary Square.

The park allows no outside food or drink, apart from items for children or special diets. Luong Son Cang serves seafood daily from 10 AM to 1 AM, which suits a dinner after the park closes at 20:00. See Luong Son Cang.

If your trip falls in those dates, plan the boat crossing into the day. See the VinWonders ticket guide.

When to go and how long

The plan fits three days, one per block above. In 2024, December was the wettest month in the Nha Trang station table, at 307.0 mm. Check the best time to visit before you fix dates.

The average number of rainy days per month in Nha Trang from the national climate table:

Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
8.6 4.3 4.1 5.0 9.2 8.3 8.4 9.8 14.4 17.6 18.0 14.4

VinWonders calls January to August the peak season, with fine weather and a calm sea. It lists September to December as the low season, with rain and sometimes storms. It suggests March, April or September for a quieter visit. Rainy-season flights, rooms and services cost less.

If it rains: swap the days

October averages 17.6 rainy days and November 18.0. On a wet morning, swap Day 1 and Day 3.

The Oceanography Museum is open 6:00 to 18:00 daily. Its marine biodiversity hall holds about 23,000 specimens, and its aquarium keeps over 300 species. Move Po Nagar and Hon Chong to the dry day.

Dam Market opens 5:00 to 18:30. The Thap Ba mud bath is open 7:30 AM to 5 PM. Both fit a wet afternoon.

VinWonders tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded, so buy once the forecast is clear.

These are the prices sourced in this plan. No total is shown, because some prices are unconfirmed and the plan mixes adult and child tickets.
