Which number to call: 112 for an incident or disaster, 113 for the police, 115 for a medical emergency.

Which number for which situation

The telecom ministry’s numbering table gives each number one label. 112 is search and rescue, 113 the police, 114 fire and 115 medical emergency. The same table gives 111 to the National Child Protection Telephone Switchboard.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police portal puts the split in plain words: 113 for security and public order, 114 for fire, rescue and relief, and 115 for medical emergency.

A crime or theft is a 113 matter. A fire or rescue is a 114 matter. A person who is hurt or ill is a 115 matter. If you cannot tell which, call 112, because it connects to all three.

What happens when you call 112

The national 112 system went into operation on 23/8/2025 as the single nationwide number that takes reports around the clock. It is connected to the emergency lines 113, 114 and 115. If your information falls within the scope of 113, 114 or 115, 112 forwards it to that line for handling.

The 112 switchboard is located at each provincial military command. A call connects directly to the provincial Military Command, which is the standing body of the provincial civil-defence command and deploys the response forces. The duty officer who receives a report of an incident or disaster must promptly report to the officer commanding that command.

The operator records your name, the time and place of the incident, how it is developing and its reach, and the help you need. Have those details ready before you dial. Say where you are first, because the place of the incident is one of the items recorded.

Free and always on

Three rules from the government’s explainer matter to a caller. Calls from fixed-line or mobile subscribers to 112 are free of charge. The system operates 24 hours on all days. It stores all incoming calls for inspection, research and improving civil-defence operations.

Giving false information is not harmless. A person who deliberately reports false information about an incident or disaster is handled under the law, according to the nature and seriousness of the act.

The older numbers still work

As of the decision of 15/9/2025, the older numbers keep running. At a suitable time calls to them will be routed to 112. The decision took effect on the date of signing, 15/9/2025.

A planned single emergency number

A Prime Minister decision of 29/6/2026 approved a project to integrate the emergency service numbers 113, 114 and 115. The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police portal reported this on 9/9/2026. Phase one integrates the three into one number, 113, used nationwide. It is located at the Police Information-Command Centres of 34 provinces and cities.

Under the plan, the officers on the 113 switchboard will also receive and coordinate pre-hospital medical emergency calls. The new system will deal strictly with callers who deliberately harass, threaten or insult the forces on duty.

The plan gives no date for Khanh Hoa. Until the switch is announced for the province, dial the number the table above lists for your situation.

Khanh Hoa General Hospital

The hospital gives its address as 19 Yersin, Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa. Its about page lists the phone number 02583.822.175. Its Google Maps listing, checked on 12/10/2026, shows Open 24 hours on all seven days.

It describes itself as a first-class hospital under the provincial Department of Health with 1,500 beds. Its functions include emergency care, examination and treatment. The about page prints no separate emergency line, so ask at the gate or switchboard which entrance takes emergency cases.

Vinmec Nha Trang

Vinmec Nha Trang gives its address as Tran Phu Street, Neighborhood Group 1, Tay Son, Nha Trang Ward. It says it has operated since 2016, with 109 inpatient beds, 3 specialized centers and 14 key medical specialties.

Its Emergency - Intensive Care Department is available 24/24 every day of the week, including Saturday, Sunday and festival holidays. The emergency page lists the number 058 3900 199, while the hospital page lists a hotline of 0258 3900 168. Because the formats differ, confirm which one connects before you rely on it.

Vinmec also provides specialised emergency services such as airport pick-up, transfer to other medical facilities with professional resuscitation equipment, and emergency services at conferences and seminars. It describes professional cross-border air medical transport for international visitors.

It says it is linked with nearly 50 private and international insurance partners and supports direct billing, described as especially convenient for foreign visitors. Ask your insurer whether it is on that list before an emergency, not during one.

Night pharmacies

For a minor problem at night, try a pharmacy. Pharmacity lists 59 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nha Trang, as the first Khanh Hoa entry on its list of 24/7 pharmacies. Its Google Maps listing, checked on 12/10/2026, shows it open 24 hours every day of the week, with the phone number +84 1800 6821.

A pharmacy is not an emergency service. For chest pain, heavy bleeding, breathing trouble or a serious injury, call 115.

Khanh Hoa tourist support hotline

Khanh Hoa’s People’s Committee issued a coordination regulation to support tourists in the province, effective 2/12/2025. The province set up a 24/24 hotline *2258 from a mobile phone, including holidays and Tet.

The regulation covers help with the administrative steps after lost or stolen personal papers such as a passport, ID card or flight ticket. It also covers handling reports of touting, cheating, price-raising, price-forcing, fraud and misappropriation of property.

The hotline is for support, not rescue. In an emergency that threatens life, call 112, 113, 114 or 115 first.

Emergencies at sea

A boat in trouble, a swimmer carried out or a diver missing goes to maritime search and rescue. The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre in Hanoi lists a 24/24 sea search-and-rescue duty line, 0243.768.3050.

For Nha Trang, the region IV centre is at 65 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Nam Nha Trang Ward. It lists the phone number 0258.3880.373, marked 24/24h. The 112 system is also connected to the Vietnam coastal radio system, so 112 is a sensible first call from the shore.

Storms and disaster warnings

112 takes reports of natural disasters, catastrophes and risks that may occur. Storms and tropical depressions and the northeast monsoon cause strong winds and big waves affecting activities in the East Sea.

Vietnam grades disaster risk in levels. There are at most 5, each tied to a map colour in rising order. Level 1 is light blue, level 2 light yellow, level 3 orange, level 4 red and level 5 purple.

The level is set for each type of disaster and announced together with the forecast and warning bulletin. A forecast tropical depression or storm of force 8-9 over the East Sea, the coastal sea, or on land including the South Central Coast is level 3. A forecast very strong storm of force 12-13 over the coastal sea or on land is level 4.

For the season itself, read Nha Trang rainy season and storms.

Before you ever need it

  • Save 112, 113, 114 and 115 as contacts with a note on what each covers.
  • Keep your home address in Vietnamese on your phone for a driver or responder. The operator records the place of the incident.
  • Know which hospital your insurer works with. Vinmec says it supports direct billing with nearly 50 insurance partners.
  • Save the tourist hotline *2258 and, if you go to sea, the region IV number 0258.3880.373.
